Myth #9: Low LDL is dangerous

REBUTTAL:
Modern hunter gatherers, normal human babies and wild have LDL in the range of 50 to 70 mg/dl.

-----

Modern HGs, the rural Chinese during the 80s and people who practice calorie restriction have extremely low LDL and total cholesterol, but very low cancer rates. And people with stable low cholesterol levels don't have higher cancer rates, just people whose cholesterol level has fallen recently. And meta-analyses of statin trials show no increase in the overall risk of cancer even after 5 to 10 years of use. This proves that cancer causes low cholesterol and not the other way around.

Even with 5 to 10 years of using statins the risk of cancer is not increased. (5 to 10 years)
